Method 1 of 5: Degreaser
- 1Use a degreaser such as WD40 (a synthetic oil), nail polish remover (acetone) or lighter fluid (naptha - the liquid fuel used in Zippo type lighters). You may want to test the degreaser of choice in a not obvious spot on the plastic to ensure that it won't react (N.B. Certain plastics will deteriorate/melt with WD-40 - though not instantly. Accomplish this by taking a Q-tip/cotton swab with the degreaser and applying it to the section of plastic chosen, then wait at least 20 minutes. If there's no reaction, then the degreaser is probably safe for that plastic.
- 2Spray degreaser on a clean cloth or directly on the sticky label or glue residue.
- 3Working in a circular motion from the center out, rub the glue spot until it is dissolved.
- 4Finished.
