How to Be Tsundere

Method 1 of 3: Being tsundere to your crush

  1. Be Tsundere Step 1.jpg
    1
Develop an edge. If you are in love with someone, act sort of mean to them and try to hide your feelings for them. Don't overdo it by acting too violent, but be a bit irritable. Better yet, give them a slightly rude nickname like Aria from Hidan no Aria. She calls her crush, Kinji (who is also a tsundere), the name "Idiot Kinji.". If you blush, that's even better. If you get an opportunity to help him out, help him out, but after you're done helping out, say something like "Stupid, I didn't do that for your sake."
    • For an idea of this, listen to the songs "Just the Girl" by The Click Five and "Hot N Cold" by Katy Perry. Both songs are about being in love with a tsundere.
  2. Be Tsundere Step 2.jpg

When you two are in private, be a tiny bit nicer to him than usual. Your partner will love this. Over time, be nicer and nicer to him, but keep your angry attitude a little bit and tease him. If he says something stupid, you can yell at him and even slap him if it's really dumb.
  3. Be Tsundere Step 3.jpg

Remember that you don't really want to hurt your crush. If he's sensitive and does not like your coldness towards him, apologize to him, but don't give in too easily - apologize while frowning, crossing your arms, and looking away a bit.
  4. Be Tsundere Step 4.jpg

Give them a little present, especially something handmade (like Valentine's Day chocolate). While you're at it, scowl at them and say something like, "Don't get me wrong! I didn't make this for your sake... this is your prize for being a number one idiot, okay?" Later, you can approach them and say, "I hope you liked the [insert present here]..." with a cold tone and expression.
    • Repeat this love-hate method!

Get the look. If you want to look like a tsundere, know that many tsunderes wear pigtails and thigh-high stockings or tights when they wear shorts and skirts. It is called Grade S Zettai Ryouiki. Most tsunderes such as Nagi Sanzenin act the way they do because they are spoiled or rich, so you can also wear pretty dresses and girly things. There is a group of tsundere types called Shana Clones who are typically short, flat-chested, and wear Grade S Zettai Ryouiki. Shana Clones have very long hair (either curly or straight) that is either left down or tied into pigtails.
    • If you have short hair, don't worry! There are some short-haired tsunderes like Mikoto Misaka of A Certain Magical Index.
    • There are also some plainly dressed tsunderes, although these are very rare. Misaki Ayuzawa from Kaichou wa Maid-Sama is an example of a tomboyish tsundere.
